The Opportunity
Accuflex is seeking a Data Privacy Paralegal with previous hands-on DSAR experience to join the privacy team of a large UK organisation on an initial two-month assignment.
This is a hands-on operational role with a particular focus on Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), document review and redaction, and personal data incidents. You will work closely with the organisation's privacy team and Office of the DPO to ensure requests and incidents are handled accurately and within applicable deadlines.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previously worked as a Data Privacy Paralegal, Data Protection Paralegal, Privacy Analyst or similar hands-on privacy professional and have practical experience managing DSARs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support DSARs and other individual rights requests through the different stages of the request process.
Review documents and data for disclosure and apply appropriate redactions.
Support high-volume DSAR review exercises and liaise with external review providers where required.
Track requests and ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met.
Assist with personal data breach incidents, including fact-finding, record keeping, internal reporting and follow-up actions.
Support the day-to-day operation of the privacy team and Office of the DPO, including monitoring and responding to queries received through the team inbox.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain information required for rights requests and privacy matters.
Maintain accurate records and support improvements to privacy processes and reporting.
About You
To be considered, you should have:
Previous hands-on professional experience dealing with DSARs/data subject rights requests.
Experience reviewing and redacting personal, sensitive or confidential information.
Previous experience working in a data privacy/data protection paralegal, analyst or similar operational privacy role.
A good working knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Strong organisational skills and experience working to statutory deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and confidence handling sensitive information.
Experience supporting personal data breach investigations, high-volume DSARs, external review providers or an in-house privacy/DPO team would be advantageous.
