Legal Counsel (Commercial) – 6-Month Contract (Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Central London (Hybrid – 2+ days in office)
Start Date: January 2026
PQE Level: NQ–2 years
Accuflex has a great opportunity for a talented and motivated Solicitor (NQ up to 2 years PQE) with good general in-house commercial experience to join our client, a leading financial services and asset manager in Central London. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic in-house legal team, contributing significantly to the business as a key advisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including NDAs, supplier terms, and service agreements, working to a legal playbook tailored to financial services.
- Legal Advice & Support: Provide pragmatic legal advice to business units across the organisation, supporting day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
- Regulatory Awareness: Advise on legal matters relating to financial services products, including Consumer Duty, privacy, IP, and GDPR.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage legal and commercial risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers, demonstrating confidence and initiative in resolving legal queries.
- Self-Sufficiency: Operate independently with minimal supervision, showing strong judgement and a proactive approach to getting things done.
Required Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), NQ–2 years PQE.
- Experience in commercial contracts, ideally within financial services or funds.
- Strong understanding of UK contract law and regulatory frameworks applicable to financial services.
- Excellent drafting skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Self-motivated, commercially aware, and confident engaging with stakeholders.
