Commercial Solicitor (NQ, London)

We have a great opportunity for a junior solicitor with commercial contracts experience to join our client’s in-house legal team in London for a fixed term contract. The role is incredibly varied and interesting and will involve commercial, company secretarial, data protection, litigation and compliance matters. The role would suit a newly qualified solicitor (NQ) or up to 2 years PQE.

You will need to be able to show solid training in commercial law and at least 12 months demonstrable experience managing commercial contract matters.

Role:

  •  Reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, contract variations, NDAs, procurement terms and conditions.
  • Assisting Legal Counsel with company secretariat functions such as preparing documents for board meetings, filing documents at Companies House, filing wet ink signed contracts.
  • Managing the Legal Department’s Contract Matrix to ensure it is updated with current contracts and variations, remind Contract Managers of upcoming expiry dates, liaise with Contract Managers to ensure details are up to date.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders in the business to respond to legal issues.
  • Assisting Legal Department with compliance work including carrying out compliance training in areas of data protection, anti-facilitation of tax, competition law, anti-bribery and corruption.
  • Supporting Legal Department in carrying out legal research and drafting of compliance documentation.
  • Supporting the Procurement team with management of compliance questionnaires from suppliers.
  • Assisting in collating data for claims and litigation.
